1. What first got you into 3D design?
→ It actually started as a workaround. During COVID-19, supply chains from China froze, and I couldn't get the accessories I needed for my home music studio. Rather than wait it out, I built a 3D printer from scratch, using reclaimed wood and salvaged part, just to manufacture what I couldn't buy. That printer, which I named Melxlxtreme R1, became the gateway into CAD and design.

Once I started CAD sculpting, I committed to it as a craft, I logged over 1,000 hours of dedicated practice. Watching the jump in quality between my early work and that made it clear this wasn't just a side project anymore; it was something I wanted to build a career and a brand around.
3. Walk us through your typical design process.
It usually starts with a creature or object I want to bring to life, then I sketch out where the articulation points need to go before I ever open CAD software. From there I move into Free CAD, or Blender depending on whether I'm sculpting organic surfaces or engineering the mechanism itself. The hard part is designing the joints so the whole thing prints in one go, fully assembled, with no supports, that takes multiple test prints and revisions before a model is ready to release. I've even started building my own CAD tools and libraries to handle the kind of articulation logic that off-the-shelf software doesn't make easy.
4. What inspires your work the most?
Nature, mostly, a huge share of my catalog is articulated flora and fauna (seahorses, frogs, axolotls, octopuses, crayfish, floral vases), and I'm drawn to translating the way living things move into a rigid, printable mechanism. There's also a pull toward solving the engineering puzzle itself: figuring out how a single print-in-place part can move 360 degrees, hinge, or articulate without supports and still without sacrificing organic looks.
5. What part of the process do you enjoy the most?
Solving the mechanism itself, the moment a joint that looked impossible on screen actually flexes and moves correctly off the print bed. That payoff, after hours of trial and error, is what keeps me hooked.
